About the role
Ariana Nexus translates from Pashto, Dari and other Afghan languages into 13 international languages: French, German, Spanish, Italian, Hebrew, Urdu, Arabic, Hindi, Portuguese, Chinese, Russian, Turkish and Swedish. Clients include law firms, immigration and asylum services, hospitals, government agencies, researchers and businesses.
What you will do
- Translate legal, civil, medical, government, research and business documents.
- Keep terminology, names and dates exact, and follow each client’s style.
- Review and edit other translators’ work when a project needs it.
- Handle every document confidentially.
What you bring
- A bachelor’s degree.
- Full professional proficiency in the language you translate into.
- Strong proficiency in Pashto or Dari.
- Translation experience, or a recognized credential such as ATA certification or sworn or authorized translator status.
- Located in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Austria, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Australia, Portugal, Brazil, Israel, India, Pakistan, Türkiye or the United Arab Emirates.
Preferred
- A master’s degree in translation or a related field.
- Experience with legal, immigration or medical documents.
Pay and benefits
$35–$60 an hour, or the agreed per-word equivalent. This is an independent contractor engagement, paid for the work you do, so it does not include employee benefits. We never ask about your current or past pay.
